Our House visited on the last Sunday of May, the
island of Aegina.
During the day, we visited the Museum, which is on the area of the
ancient port. The conditions in the territory do not make proud the
visitor. Everywhere garbage, mixed with hundreds broken pieces of
ancient pottery that no one of the authorities has ever thought to
collect.
Of course we paid a visit to Apollo’s Temple and Athena’s Afaia as
well, where we offered Honours as it should.
For us that we are Hellenes, we found hilarious the stone scripture
on the Temple of Appolo, which is written only in German language
(as the Austrian Archeological School has the exclusive authority to
research and excavate) which says: APOLLON TEMPEL. For a Hellene
that sounds like the Turkish word for lazy (tembel)...
As it seems, no one from the Greek authorities has ever thought
about placing a scripture in our language. Maybe from laziness,
maybe because they just do not care...
